The thinking behind the Broadlake Foundation

The Broadlake Foundation exists to amplify impact at scale.

We start with a simple belief.

When an organisation has already proven that its work can make a difference, the right support can help it go much further.

In this Philanthropy Ireland Podcast podcast conversation with Jim Breslin and Daragh Anglim, we explore why the Foundation was created, what makes its model different and how lessons learned through building and scaling businesses can be applied to organisations creating positive social and environmental change.

We combine funding with structure, strategic expertise, board-level experience and the practical knowledge that exists across the Broadlake Group. The aim is not to donate and disappear. It is to build deep, long-term partnerships that help organisations grow stronger, develop their capability and extend their impact.

The Foundation focuses on three areas:

  • Climate and biodiversity,
  • Inclusion and support for people facing inequality, and
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation for young and underrepresented people.
