Key take aways from Home and Community Care Ireland Conference

Tom Smyth’s, our Head of Strategy, key take aways from the Future Health Summit are all patient centric rather than corporate or technology focused.

I was particularly touched by Deirdre Collins speaking on Thursday morning when receiving the Outstanding Contribution to Irish Healthcare Awards from Bernard Gloster.

My simple learnings from her talk were:

– Every Day Matters
– Quality of life is much more important than length of life
– In our efforts to cure we have forgotten about care
– The importance of truly listening to the patient

It is very humbling attending events like this where you meet clinicians and patients who are true inspirations.
