Broadlake’s new CEO: Bill Hutchinson

Today, the time has come for our Founder Pete Smyth to fire himself as CEO of Broadlake.

Before you feel sorry for him, he has also just hired himself into a newly created role of Executive Chairman of Broadlake. Bill Hutchinson, our current COO, will take over as CEO.

Since Broadlake was established in 2008 with a handful of people it has grown to a Group employing over 5,000 people globally today. Our vision and ambition is simply 3X10X – being 3 times the size while having 10 times the positive impact. When we complete one 3X10X journey we then go again.

Transformational change is in our DNA and today’s announcement is based on our simple belief of having the right people playing in the right positions for the next 3X10X.

Bill joined us over a year ago and quickly hit the ground running, having magnificent impact over that period. He has worked in a number of great multinational organisations across senior roles in commercial, operations and tech over the past 15 years. His international experience has spanned the UK, US and Asia. Bill’s functional, business-scaling, and international experience will all be invaluable in supporting Broadlake’s continued organic and acquisitive international growth.

As Executive Chairman, Pete will have more time to focus on the medium to long term strategic direction of Broadlake and the Group companies together with the board and company founders Brian Crowley and Donal Garrihy. He will also get to spend more time ensuring we are achieving our sizeable positive impact ambitions. It’s not just title changes, but the opportunity for Pete and Bill to play to their strengths for the next phase of impactful growth.

We wish Pete and Bill every success in their new roles.
